Starro the Conqueror

Introduction

Cryptic Crossword Clue: This alien conqueror has put starfish all over your face. Or rats on your back (6)

Starro is the original and the best Justice League villain. Assuming you define ‘best’ as ‘most starfishy’. He is a giant intelligent alien starfish who absorbs the brain power of humans by sticking starfish spores on their faces. So, y’know, evil and gross.

Grant Morrison had a crack at Starro, too, as you might expect. In his JLA run, he had the Justice League face off against the starfish conqueror, sans powers, for fear that Starro would control their minds and use the league to conquer the entire multiverse across all time and space.

This two-issue story also features Dream of the Endless, who has kind things to say to Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner. So you know it’s a wild ride.
